Ingredients
- Gram flour (besan) – 1 cup (120g)
- Moringa powder – 1 tsp (5g)
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp (2g)
- Red chili powder – ½ tsp (2g)
- Onion – 1 medium, chopped (100g)
- Tomato – 1 small, chopped (80g)
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (10g), chopped
- Salt – 1 tsp (5g)
- Water – ~¾ cup (180ml)
- Oil – 2 tbsp (30ml) for cooking
Instructions
- Step 1 — Prepare batter (≈10 mins): In a mixing bowl, add besan, moringa powder, turmeric, chili powder, onion, tomato, coriander, and salt. Gradually add water to make a smooth, flowing batter without lumps.
- Step 2 — Cook chillas (≈15 mins): Heat a non-stick pan or tawa. Pour one ladle of batter and spread gently in a circular motion. Cook on medium flame for 2–3 minutes per side with a few drops of oil. Repeat for the remaining 3 chillas.
- Serve hot with green chutney or curd.
Tips
- Add grated carrot or spinach for extra nutrition.
- Ensure batter is not too thick; adjust consistency for easy spreading.
- Cook on medium flame for crispy and evenly cooked chillas.
